European Researchers' Night

Vísindavaka in Iceland is part of European Researchers' Night, which is an event organised every year on the last Friday of September, and on 28 September 2018, you can find an event in around 340 towns and cities all over Europe!

The main objective is to bring together scientists and the public, show scientists and science in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and to raise awareness of the work of researchers and their contribution to society.

Researchers' Night offers the opportunity to discover research facilities that are usually not open to public, such as laboratories and research centres, use the most recent technologies and instruments with the guidance of scientists, participate in experiments, competitions and quizzes, watch demonstrations and simulations, exchange ideas and party with the researchers.

Researchers' Night is funded by the Marie Sklodowska-Curie actions, under Horizon 2020, the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.

Researchers' Night 2018 takes place on 28 September in more than 340 towns and cities all over Europe!
